My brother Leng Ping and his girlfriend at Largo do Senado
Largo do Senado located at the central of Avenida de Almeida Ribiero (more commonly known locally as San Ma Lo which means new street in Cantonese) in Central Macau Peninsular, is also providing the city’s focal point and is the start of most tourist’s exploration of Macau. And it’s also the starting point of our walking tour of Macau city.
Leal Senado Square is paved with a swirling wave-patterned mosaic of coloured stones, created by Portuguese experts. Largo do Senado is surrounded by stunning colonial architecture: the imposing Leal Senado, the Santa Casa da Misericordia, and finally Sao Domingos Church. There is a fountain at the central of the charming square, but too bad it’s not functioning at the time of our visit. It seemed like it’s under maintenance.
